Fuel tank valves and tees for the fuel lines
Skyediamonds198527-Apr-16 21:38
Never saw these types of fuel valves on a PT-17. Are they inside the cockpits? Beautiful job. Plastic?

Succulent!

These are located under the upper wing on either side of the cockpit. I'll post a picture I used as a reference.

Nice work. That T handle was a pain. "Plastruct" makes a small flat styrene strip in various sizes that works for the flat rigging.

Thanks for that tip Don. Has anyone tried vinyl lacing for the flat rigging? I'm going to look at some at Michaels and see if it's a possibility. If ya'll don't hear from me soon you'll know my family did an intervention and put me in detail rehab. : )

Don C., I found the Plastruct flat styrene strips you mentioned. They will have to be painted since they are white but I think they will be perfect. Thank you.

BiPlane guy: TRy Googling "Flat Wire" you will be surprised at the options out there. Bookbinding wire might work.

I did sand them a bit and used a silver Sharpie to color them. Easier than a brush.
biplane guy17-May-16 07:21
rayl, I did Google "flat wire" as you suggested. I found a company that had just the thing but had discontinued the two smaller sizes that would have been about the right scale. Thanks for the tip.

Don C., why did you sand them? Was it so the marker (great idea) would adhere better?
