wingspanner | 13-May-08 05:37 | Finally took some of my own advice and walked away from the build. |
wingspanner | 13-May-08 05:41 | I covered the wings using different tissues 4 times and every time was disappointed by the result. So i started a new model and went back to this one. I finally found a method (and material) that suits me.
What about the hardening of the tissue. I tried 4 coats of none shrinking dope then started airbrushing but the tissue sagged and didnt return to shape. I believe some people use 50/50 elmers/water but how many coats.
Any suggestions? |
JohnG. | 13-May-08 09:18 | WS...I've used the 50/50 on both regular kit tissue and silkspan (after the initial water shrinking)almost exclusively without a problem. The 50/50 acts as a sealer, so as many coats as you like...I generally do 2 or 3. The tissue will sag after each coat but, will return when dry. Some mix some alcohol to speed the drying....I usually use a hair dryer on the lowest heat setting...if I am in a hurry. |
