This is looking fantastic!! Another museum piece on the way! DD, your painting technique amazes me. You do as well with a brush as anyone using an airbrush. Beautiful!

Thank you! I really like this plane.

Imaculate ... The way you build them is in fact a bit discouraging because its so out of reach. I wish I had more time to continue with my P-47.

Heinrich, nothing should be out of reach. Use this as inspiration and do your best, and it will turn out just fine. Practice and patience works every time for me. But I do agree that DD's builds seem out of reach, as do many others on this site, but trust me, you can get there.

DD, a friend and I were discussing the color scheme. Is this a Coast Guard plane?

Trust your Poppy, nothing is out of reach. And please don't be discouraged, I spend all day doing this and simply try to build them as well as I can. Remember also I've been doing this for years. Many years. ;-{) During my 20 years in the Air Force I built only two or three plastic ones and that was when I was just out of high school. I did teach myself to paint during that time so what you see is a combination of building and painting and a love of each. I think all of us have that kind of feeling for our models and regardless of experience in building, we all share the satisfaction that comes from actually finishing one. To paraphrase an old song, "Anything I can do, you can do better."

Gorgeous work David, I can't wait to see more of your work. I'm new to this website and work like yours is truly a motivation! I would love to see a picture of your fully completed Stearman with decals and prop if you find the time to post one. Thanks man!

Thank you. "Baby pics" will be posted when it's totally finished. I love that fat plane you have debuted with and you did a really good job on it!
