Image Comments David Duckett 26-Jun-14 03:28 I've noted Poppy's adjustments for scale, Howard's redrawn stabilizer, and Moostang's machine gun placement, and over the years I've heard MUCH about the different versions of the 109. According to further research, all variants had the window marked by the red tape. And yet, there are only two models on the site painted correctly, one being Poppy's plastic model. All the others have this window painted over or in some cases removed. Wonder why? poppy 26-Jun-14 03:58 Most all of the earlier variants thru most of the F models have this small triangular clear glazing. However, starting with the G series thru remaining production this was removed. The G series have a small vent in this area on each side. The quarter panels were removed to accommodate the heavier canopy framing needed for cockpit pressurization. David Duckett 26-Jun-14 04:17 Poppy's right, of course. The G series isn't in my Squadron reference book.
