Nice save Don! No idea about getting soft balsa. I've been buying on ebay and dealing with what I get. |

Infilled models done correctly always look better. Only problem being securing the extra balsa and time consuming. Keep an eye on eBay for people selling their unused balsa. I can relate to the sore back. Keep up the good work. |

Productive day, but a sore back. Wings infilled. The 2 open slots are where the landing gear are mounted. Question for everyone: My LHS closed a couple of years ago. Have to order suplies on line. The balsa I have received is very hard . Any ideas where to get good balsa? |

Finally had a fair amount of time. Stringers on, diagonals removed and infill started.. Looks like it's going to work fine. |

You are right. It's really thin too, so my original thought of sheeting with 1/32" birch plywood won't work. I'm planning on infilling. I'm running stringers now. It should work and also strengthen the leading and trailing edges. I'm beginning to think I didn't think this out very well, but it's gonna go! :) |

That's not a lot of ribs for a 22" wingspan. How are you going to cover the wings? Fuse looks great! |

which will give the proper dihedral when cemented together. Thanks to Ted Richards for sending a good copy of he plans. It may actually fir together now.

Basic fuselage pretty well done. Wings under way. $ ribs and a 1/8 inch leading edge are pretty light, so I sutci in the diagonals for a bit more strength. Starting to apply stringers. Scratched a center rib for each wing and glued it at an angle |

You're welcome. Hard to believe you missed something. :)
Interesting museum. They have an airworthy Lancaster and are rebuilding a Mossie.

Once again life gets in the way of our model building. Looks good. |

Some progress, albeit slow. Too many other irons in the fire. |

I think that the two pages were the total. 1/24 scale is the best scale to work. email at frwyflyer@gmail.com |

Mr. Richards, thanks. I appreciate your offer. I was able to get the two pages from Poppy's build copied. If there isn't more than those two pages, I have it and think I can do it. I like the challenge of scratch building more each time I try it. Sure am open to any guidance, though. I am doing it at 1/24 scale. |

When Poppy passed away, his son gave many of his models to the Commemorative Air Force. His BT-13 is in one of their museums somewhere in Texas. |
