Thanks for the nice comments fellas. I'll post more pics including some of the full-scale WACO UPF-7 which my daughter and I flew in and which inspired this model. Bob, after the plans I found online were scaled to fit the Continental R670 radial engine from the Guillow's PT-17 kit I ended up with a 25" wingspan. |

I was about to post photos of my update, but this thing needs time to shine. If no-one told me this was a model, I'd just think I'd be looking at the real deal.
I'll post my clunker later on in the week. |

Hey, Bob. The plans I used were by Jerry Behrens Plans. They were scaled for a much larger RC model than I wanted to build. A good example is the wheel size. The plans call for 6" diameter wheels and the size I'm using is only 1-3/4" diameter. I had a local reprographics company scale the plans to fit the Continental R670 engine from the Guillows PT-17 kit as the WACO UPF-7 uses the same engine. Lots of adjustments were made to allow for the working controls but the plans gave me an accurate starting point. |

Cool, I like to see the different ideals people come up with. Your models are very detailed. |

I think I'm finally ready to cover. Ailerons work from the stick. |

Used Evergreen #4521 Standing Seam Metal Roofing to approximate the unique ailerons on the WACO. |

Thanks, guys. After working on this project for 6 months now I'm going to take a break, do some fishing and some work around the house. I'll be watching your builds to get some inspiration. |
