I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

poppy...prototype.. the wire into the fuse will be either a tube in a tube or wire that slides on itself. The top of this mechanism is attached to a pivot.

That is an interesting solution. Didn't the long strut to the upper fuselage break inward as it folded up?

It seems to me that I saw a scan of plans for a Grumman FF from a model magazine from the mid 1930's that had the landing gear linkage done so you could display the model gear down and fly it gear up. I'll check my files and see if I have a copy of that one.

This is going to be very interesting.

Wheels up...refining the mechanism and fitting it to the plane will be no walk in the park but it is possible!

I think that is what I did trimmed to fit and pasted the "tile" together....things get lost in the realm of electrons!
SteveM, Comment for image # 509517 Nov 07 21:36
The idea is that when you have a drawing/picture that is larger than your paper you can either scale it down to the size of your paper or break it into "tile" pieces and print the pieces onto several sheets of paper but at full scale. Then just trim off the margins and tape the sheets together. Take a look at this thread and see if any of the methods will work for you. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455470 I believe Acroread can print tiles, but these suggestions might be easier. You may also find these pictures very interesting. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=143684 There are probably 200 pictures regarding your kit.

This one's a real challenge, of which there is no doubt you are up to. A lot of wheel well interior details if you so choose. Most would not attempt a wheels down model of this or the F4F because of the L/G struts.

The pdf plans are not to scale ...so I shall wait the snail mail next week!
John M Oshust, Image # 509717 Nov 07 20:50

We shall call this the first to keep the records strait. This is the bird I will try to build.

Very nice looking wood, I'm trying to notch the formers on the fuse for the P40 and there literally falling apart.
SteveM, Comment for image # 509517 Nov 07 19:58
Maybe you can tell the printer to tile the pages rather than stretch to fit the paper?
John M Oshust, Image # 509517 Nov 07 19:56

The laser cut kit, with superior wood arrived W/O plans. I contacted the Man. In an effort to "speed" the process Tom sent plans as pdf files. Unfortunately they are not to scale...I wait the full size plan....Ho Hum!

James...The F3F-2 is not listed! This , learned modelers is what I am trying to build.
