Yep. They would dive back down at each other. They crossed with in 100 yards of us. The boat shook as they went by. I also think it was called the Cleveland Air Races, not Air Show. We were out there all day with a pylon judge.

Looks beautiful, Don. I can't wait to see it finished!

Color check. Look OK?

Is this it, Huey?

Think I have a picture of it, but having the same problem getting it to post. Back then I was using a Kodak box camera with 620 Kodachrome. Shutter speed = very slow and the color has deteriorated. If I can figure it out again, I'l post it.

I have never seen them.
Huey V77, Comment for image # 3886916 Jun 17 11:40
Have you ever seen the Snowbirds perform? I think they're the best.

1965 at the Cleveland Airshow I was on a 35' Christcraft on pylon #1. I watched the Thunder Birds perform in F100's. One monuver they crossed 100 yards from us after the bomb burst. Unforgettable.

I have seen the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels several times over the years and while both are incredible, I think the Blue Angels are more impressive.

These guys were friendlier.

I would appreciate that very much. Do you still have my information from the F4U wheels?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3880610 Jun 17 15:20
I have the main ones, molded from those on an Avenger, if you want them.
Don C, Comment for image # 3880610 Jun 17 11:31
Measured from plans: Main 1 1/16", nose 7/8". Calculated from real sizes to 1/24 scale: main 1", nose 3/4". That leaves a little wiggle room. Thanks.

Sizes?
Don C, Comment for image # 3880609 Jun 17 16:15
Tried Hobbylink and Squadron, but can't find wheels. Anybody have a different source?
