Now that is cold for the Tuscon area. It snowed this morning in Dallas.

That's funny, it's the same temperature as of 9:30am EST here in Windsor, Ontario which is across the border from Detroit, Mi.

Thank you so much, David. It'll be treasured!

A beautiful setting for all pictured, especially for the little one's fascination.

Thanks for the info David. I agree, it would be easier to sand to shape by laminating pieces together rather than a balsa block. I will use your method. Thanks again. :)

They're laminated. See the red line on the tip? I cut a piece of 3/32" stock for the wingtip and sand the outline to shape. Then I color the perimeter with a colored marker so that when adding the laminations you can see the outline and sand them to match the colored outline. A solid block will work just as well but I have a tendency to sand too much away without a good reference.

David, it's hard to tell, but did you laminate balsa wood together for your wing tips, or are they one solid piece of balsa bolck?

Looks fabulous, and obviously has a soothing effect on Mr. Cat.

Oh` I see. I didn`t realize it was backlit. Love the color contrast. Bold and Beautiful.

I will second the red transparency. I put 5 coats on the T-Bolt, and that was on a white background, nose and rudder. The painting is just beautiful, not as grand as the Lone Star of course. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to you, Mike and all the modelers on the Aerodrome.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2819422 Dec 12 06:29
Thank you. Unfortunately it won'e be backlit when hung :-(. It does show just how transparent red is: this is 7 coats!
