Now that brought a smile to my face.

thank you, Ray - it has been a fun project. I built the old Sterling kit many years ago in the stick and tissue format. I was not a very good 'build to fly' modeler so it took no time at all to re-kit itself.. but I love this gull winged golden age classic

They look good. That was a tricky bit on the Beaver.

I guess that means I need to work on the glazing..get the windscreen and cabin windows cut to size and so on.

so tomorrow is strut fabrication day. The wing struts, the horizontal tail struts, and the float struts all need to be fabricated. I also want to get a coat of primer on the floats and the airframe if possible. Then we'll see what's what.

I agree ray - I'd mount 'em on my car if I could!

Looks sweet Heywood!! Floats forever!

not on this example. The image I am working from has tubular float struts. These are the core struts, they will be inserted into the proper diameter aluminum tubing for final assembly. the rear struts are a slightly larger diameter but are also round tubing.

Looks GOOD to me HW ! Will you be laminating two pieces of balsa around the float strut wires and sanding to shape?

isometric view of the approximate float installation. Looks about right to me - tell me what you guys think..there will be an additional support strut - like an -N- cabane setup for biplanes, aft of the trailing strut pictured here.

the floats are nearing completion - this is just a quick look at the angles and dimensions of their installation
