I like these long-term projects that end up to be so wonderful - very well done.

Nice job. 14 years is a lot of patience. It paid off.

Someone once said that the early Datsun roadsters looked like a Bizarro MGB. While the styling may have been a bit dated at the time, (Looks fine now!), it was fun to drive. Although it did not quite have the handling of the MG it established something that the MG never could, that a sports car could be reliable. Really nice job! Almost makes me wish that I had not given up fooling around with cars.

Great looking restoration. I once heard that Datsun copied an MG engine only made it better; any truth to that? I'm currently working on my 1962 TR3b.

1st scratch built peanut...still getting used to the TINY wood! My new Jones Balsa stripper makes it SO much easier to cut the wood that small.

Just need to mount a sliding drape track to the ceiling, an pull it around and voila" out of the way. Kinda like the hospital version, but have the missus make a nice drape for it. Nice light, and the dremel will come in handy.

Thanks, guys! I'm farsighted so it's tough for me to work on stuff up close. The magnifier has 12 LED lights and it works fantastic!! My workbench is located in one of our guestrooms so I promised my lovely wife that I'd keep the mess to a minimum...plus it's my job to clean up when guests are coming!!

I think a magnifier lamp like yours is in my immediate future. So tidy a work place. I am about to make my tidy work place a little messy as I am starting the P-51

Oh yeah...you might notice the "Goon" Peanut is on the building board! :-) It's my 1st "scratch" build peanut...

Well, Santa Claus came and brough me some upgrades to the man cave! A Dremel "work stand", I now have a drill press on my work table. A magnifying light is SO much better! I also now have a Jones Balsa stripper...what a cool tool! And Santa brought me Bill Hannan's book "Peanut Power"...I'm stocked and stoked for the winter building!!!

Current status of Piper Cub restoration. The modeler who built it did a nice job but built it very heavy. So I'm trying to sand off all the old paint, and lighten where possible. I built new tail feathers using the solid pieces as templates and have saved over 5g just there alone. Should reduce the nose weight needed and help it fly better!

OK, now this is getting fun! Today I experienced my first "chase" as I put more winds into the motor and launched it in my front yard. It climbed and circled over my house and nearly landed on my neighbor's house, which is HIGHER up on the "mountain" where we live. Time to find a larger flying field!! This may be a 50 yr old plane and design, but it flies really well! The glide is amazing (to me) as my other planes have been scale models but this is a "purpose built" design. I can only imagine what would happen if I built the tail feathers lighter and was able to take some of the lead off the nose...hmmmmm... Mark
