I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Thanks, and no, I still haven't added the gear, and I think it is at least mostly for looks, beacause when I flew it on grass it didn't hurt the belly except when it hit briers or gravel, and if I had coverd the belly twice, and had soft grass in my backyard/field , it probly wouldn't have gotten damaged at all.

Really looks wonderful - Congrats on the good flights! What is the landing gear all about, did you add it?

Looks geat.

(oops - finishing sentence here) given. Special thanks to Scigs30 for the info on washout. This is my 4th model, and I would appreciate your comments.

What do you think? I have not finished the landing gear, but that didn't stop me from flying it! It flys well with my current setup, but I would love some tips from anyone, any info would be great, and I would like to thank everyone for the help they have

Thanks, do you know if I can still add washout? Can you give me some tips? The tissue is peck-polymers esaki on top, and stock guillows tissue on the bottom. Thanks - SuperCub

Helps plane recover from stalls, definitely needed on Guillow kits. Here is a good link, http://tpbweb.com/media/catalog/619.pdf

Thanks, I used small pieces of balsa to set the dihedral, and then pinned it down tight. I did it like you did, except I used acetone glue. Also, what is washout?

I did lighten the formers on the fuse, but I lightened mostly behind the C.G., and did you say you use a Dremmel for your lightening?
jgood, Comment for image # 693705 Mar 08 17:23
Get that dremmel in there and take away some of those fuse formers too! :)

Never, How are you adding the dihedral? 1 1/8 is perfect for this bird and almost a necessity for it to fly stable. When building the wing don't glue in the spars until you are ready to add the dihedral. I make the wing flat then sand. After sanding I add the dihedral and spars. I use Elmers glue so I never worry about everything drying too quick. Use blocks under the wing tips. Apply glue to the joints where the dihedral begins. Add all the top spars and let it dry. When dry remove from the board and apply the bottom spars. Good luck, don't forget the washout when covering the wing.

Sorry, I forgot about the 500 character max, what I ment to say is: It did this twice, anyone else have this problem?
supercub, Image # 693805 Mar 08 12:20

almost all the covering is done. I had a bunch of trouble covering the wing, because when I cemented the dihedral joints and set 1 1/8" of dihedral and went to sleep... and when I came back it had 1 1/4" on one side and 7/8" on the other! It did this twic

Thanks, I have now ordered in the prop, tissue, rubber, and I am working on the fuse.

Thanks for the info everybody! This kit was kind of like SteveM's B-25, in the fact that it had a very soft "A" grain balsa, and a hard "C" grain balsa, but I will make any parts that are too hard or too soft (I made the F2 ribs in the picture (they are the bent/cracked ones).
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 669421 Feb 08 22:36
Thanks for the balsa info. I am using balsa left over from the Barrel for the Rat. Half of the width of 6 in x 36 x 1/16 sheets were so hard that I thought I might need a torch to cut it. Still the hard wood was better than the "pop corn" Balsa that Guillows sent with my Spirit!
SteveM, Comment for image # 669421 Feb 08 22:16
A/B/C grain refers to how the wood is cut relative to the log it was cut from. Check out this guide for a better description. Incidentally, I just purchased a B-25 with half of the sheet wood soft and die crushed and the other half heavy/hard wood but with razor sharp die cut lines. I'm not going to build it to fly so I guess I'll try getting the die crushed wood replaced. If I was trying to fly it I would either need all new wood or to cut my own.
