You shouldn't be disappointed by the outcome, it looks great. I have this kit in the closet and I put it off because I know how much work goes into this kit. I had a P-38 once and remember taking pictures on a pool table of the finished frames. I remember counting the glued joints and was astounded by the number. It is a great kit, good luck, but I would love to see the painted finale on the B-25. Everytime I look at this web I see someone's work and think to myself, why didn't I do that? This is a very nice build.

Hi skip, sorry for the delay but I was gone on TDY for a while, I used normal masking tape for this but now have switched to "liquid mask" very easy to use with much better results...

What are you masking the windows with? I've been trying to understand how this is done but don't quite get it.

I think is looks great, just the way you've done it. At least in the photos. Great job!!

I also like the finish, at least in the photos. It does look weathered like drab, flat paints would react to the sun. If the peeling occurred during masking the colors, you may not have left enough time between coats and the paint had not fully cured. That has been my experience. The plane looks great.

Looks very good to me, sly. If you did want to even up the finish, I bet some of that satin Krylon sealer would help. But as Poppy said, this is probably more realistic. The Krylon will help blend in the decals too.

This one has an authentic weathered look. Not many of these birds had pristine paint jobs while in service. They had patches, replacement panels, etc. I think this looks grand!! Good job.

As I mentioned before,I had a hard time with the paint on this one, it kept peeling on me,,use both airbrush and normal hand brush. Still have a few decals to put on.

disappointed with the paint, decals still wet.

sorry poppy, haven't put the picture on the computer yet, will get to it soon, kind of disapointed about the outcome, but it's a learning curve, going to buy a few small kits to pratice on before I tackle the 2000 series p-38 the wife got me for christmas..

I use a dark flat green with a sky gray underside but had problem with the paint, after a primer coat was applied it started peeling off, had to re-sand and try again..still peeled in places,, used a 50/50 white glue mixture for precover. In the end I had a substandard paint job.. any suggestions what happened???
