I've put a couple of coats of gesso on and it has dried a couple of days so today I'll start sanding it smooth. These covered tail pieces will not get gesso.

Everything is covered, doped, and glued in place and I have applied a partial coat of gesso. I'll put on a couple more when the filler is sanded smooth.

Gesso, as in Jesse, is made to prepare nearly any porous surface for painting. It is used primarily to prime raw, or unprimed, canvas. The combination of these two will produce a finish smmoth as glass and with all the holes filled. It also makes the wood harder. Gesso is used directly from the bottle and produces a flat white which covers quite well.

Warm weather has allowed the covering to start. The wings are done and today should see these pods done. The hubcap is made from styrene.
