After a quick primer coat(s) the cowl was double stick taped to a bit of MDF and secuured to a mill to bore out some holes.

Decided to scallop (?) between the stringers to get uninterrupted lines. Gotta adjust that one. It's the only one I replaced after I broke it during the cowl shaping. Pictures really show stuff!

After a three week work blast (work work, Mars copter, full-size for JPL) completed the stringers and shaped the nose block (minus the intake ports, hollowing. and light glass).

Rayl inspired me! Pretty strange but effective motor mount. It achieved the correct right and down thrust. The offset geometry aligned the prop shaft dead center at the cowl (well, soon to be) exit for the spinner.

The wing is almost complete. I've added some radiussed(?) gussets to some joints that looked susceptible to breakage. And a couple just for looks.

The geometry (monkey Motion) was calculated by the Helicopter guys (which I am definitely not!) and I began to CAD up all the parts, then fabricate all the parts (minus the gears and motor), assemble, and test this thing. It fly successfully in the simulated Mars atmosphere in JPL's HUGE vacuum chamber the test all the Earth orbit satellites in. Just nine little "Hops" but it actually did better that the 4 channel vehicle. Here's a JPL video.
