Base of landing gear housing. Styrene attached to 1/16" balsa. Will fabricate side panels of 1/16" curves and 3/32" straights covered with light styrene. Balsa will provide means of attaching the 1/32" bottom skin of wing. At least that's the plan.

Setting up the wing structure for split flaps and recessed landing gear housing. Will plank the top of wing prior to beginning the removal of any formers. Back wall of flap area already in place.

290 plank pieces later. My plans are now to remove sections for a recessed front landing gear bay and recess and modify the exhaust ports. Operational doors were a consideration but I'd probably end up trashing the canopy, so panel lines will suffice. God I love this kit.

Bottom wing sanded to shape. Upper has added balsa for strength while silking. Lotta cutting and scallop shaping...hmmmm next time I'll try a laser cut kit.

All new 1/16" formers and 3/32" stringers on fuse . Stabe is all recut 3/32" material. Will sand and use some 1/32" sheeting and silkspan.

Started this 30+ years ago. Real old kit. Brochure had the 100 series in it. Will recut with better balsa and start again.
