Main landing gear doors have been added. The vanes in the intakes were made from .020 styrene and balsa sticks. 1 1/4 ounces of lead weight was implanted in the bottom of nose to bring it to a three point stance.

Very nice piece of work David ! Are those intake vanes a result of Lockheed's problem of having the intake ducts collapsing inward from engine suction during ground testing of the P-80 ?

No, Brian. Dale, I don't know what their design function is.

Those intake vanes are the result of David following the directions. ; )

I was reading about the P-80 prototype and the intake problem was mentioned, but nothing said about the solution. Anyway, those intake vanes do look good on your model !

Thanks, Dale. Those vanes are the last thing to make so now I can finish the detailing. I do like the touch they add:-)
