Huh, that didn't take long. Notice I have resorted to mending small rips with scotch tape. I got this glued back together managed several touch and go's without breaking it again. On the way home I bought a spruce stick from the LHS.

Just name it "Patches". Keep on flying!

I flew on a C-123 in Viet Nam once that was "patched" with numerous red circles on the inside to cover the bullet holes.

I got an email from Patches saying that he would slice and dice the Tyro if I named such a heap after him. The new spruce motor stick held up very well today. I supposed it helped that for the entire first battery pack (>20 minutes) I managed to touch and go without a single spill into the grass. On subsequent battery packs the cross wind was getting fairly strong and had some nasty gusts, so later I considered it good enough if I managed to tap the runway with the main gear.
