| frwyflyer | 21-Jun-10 00:47 | | Yes it is! |
| jerry campbell | 21-Jun-10 01:42 | | Really looking good, have you decided on a color scheme yet? |
| CPN | 21-Jun-10 05:38 | | I'll paint it the standard RLM 74, 75, 76 mix. I have not decided about the extra markings though. There are just so many good examples out there. Any suggestions? Maybe a JG-1 bird with the eagle decal on the side... |
| Jedi | 22-Jun-10 01:57 | | Very nice, looks like a smooth paper job!!! |
| CPN | 22-Jun-10 03:29 | | Jedi, thank you. I usually use guillows silkspan - I buy it from the hobby shop near my house. It looks great and is strong, but it was taking me about 4 coats of thinned dope to seal it, and even then there were still pinholes showing through. I tried esaki on this kit. The whole issue was in doubt and I almost stripped it all off and went with silkspan again. There are dozens of covering tips and ideas on the Pensacola Free Flight Team website - articles link here: http://pensacolafreeflight.org/pageDisplay.jsp?pageid=13152 Some of the articles were of great help in getting the covering on this reasonably tight. |
