Can't see but I snapped the rubber with 400 turns. Will replace and asking EB but thought rubber could take 3x that amount

Lubricate the rubber?

Hey now, keep it clean. This is a family forum. ; )

That's a risk with rubber bands. Sometimes what we think we can turn it a number of times is one thing, what the rubber band can actually take, it something else. I admire you for taking that chance to help prolong a beautiful flight.

The question is lube with what? I figure some things weaken rubber

I use to use a mixture of 50% green soap and 50% glycerin. Got it from a duugest. Don't know if that can be done these days. The rubber band will really stretch out with this lube and last longer.

Most Hobby Suppliers have this in a small jar. Vaseline works too.

This a very exciting topic! Glycerin is very slippery. Will look at my CVS Drugs. I heard Vaseline is not good because it destroys the rubber. What does work is KY Jelly but I may be too old to buy KY flavored jelly!

Mitch, it's right next to the edible underwear.

Drug stores don't sell edible undies but porn stores do, and enough flavored lubes for any taste.

An update on slippery rubber and customer service. Received a follow up from EB's Dave Niedzielski with replacement 4 ft of tan rubber along with a nice "how to". Great to see customer service like this. EB will get more of my business. Maybe even their new Velivole canard Wakefield. But first l need to get this Spitfire trimmed and in the air.
