| David will be laid to rest at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho, with interment tentatively scheduled for late October. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions be made to Puplandia Dog Rescue, https://www.puplandiadogrescue.org/, Portland, Oregon, a cause close to David’s heart. |

| An accomplished artist and master airplane modeler, David poured his heart into crafting intricate model airplanes and vibrant paintings, often gifting his creations to friends and family. His love for classical music filled his home with beauty, and his deep affection for animals reflected his kind and generous spirit. Known for his selflessness, David had a remarkable ability to anticipate others’ needs, offering help with a quiet grace that left a lasting impact. |

| A proud veteran, David began his distinguished military career in the U.S. Air Force Band, enchanting audiences across Europe and Spain for four years with his musical talent. He later reenlisted, specializing in Electronics and Radar with the Strategic Air Command, Detachment 5 of the 1st Combat Evaluation Group (1CEVG), serving at remote sites across the western United States. His bravery and commitment shone during two tours in Southeast Asia as part of the USAF’s “Skyspot” mission in Pleiku, Vietnam, and Thailand. Retiring as a Master Sergeant with numerous honors, David settled in Tucson, where he built a life rich with creativity and connection. |

| David leaves behind his devoted spouse of 31 years, Michael Copeland, of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Alden Duckett (1935–1998) of Augusta, Georgia, and his sister, Judith Ann Duckett (1938–2003) of Canton, North Carolina. |

| From the intricacies of detail, looks as though it takes a lot of patience & concentration. Really have to stay focused as to not stray from the penciled outlines when tracing over it with a pen. Simple geometric shapes & even modeling is one thing, but this level of detailing really goes to another level! |
