I posted this pic before but since I can't remember where, here it is again, with an update. This is an e-mail from Mike McHugh, the aviation teacher I've been chatting with.

" I would like to do one better than send you pictures. We will be having a dedication ceremony for the aviation area in the career academy. ( The room is named the Bob Watts aviation center. Mr. Watts played a very large role in the history of aviation in North Dakota. On his passing, he made a generous donation to the school district to be used for hands on instruction.) I would like to invite you to the ceremony. The ceremony will be held sometime around the first of December and the district has agreed to cover your airfare. We would also like to do a write-up about you and the models prior to this event. Although we have not confirmed a date, I hope you will be able to attend. Thank you, Mike McHugh."......I hate cold weather but HELL YES I'LL GO!! I am deeply moved and honored. When I started painting about 100 years ago, I always wanted to hang a painting in a museum. This works. I feel bad about going up there for that single event so I'm going to offer to spend a couple of days in the classroom with his students who build the smaller Guillows kits as part of the class. I haven't been in front of a class in 42 years but it should be fun as I believe his class is quite familiar with this site.

You've certainly earned the honor. Congrats!

Share you amazing skills and knowledge DD, if I were in your shoes I too would be honored. BTW, great job you did on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
David Duckett04-Oct-10 17:50
Thanks, I think, but if I even got close to that chapel, lightning would surely strike it.

I will be there!!!! I still have 2-3 holiday time coming. Just let me know for sure a date, etc.

Driving down Manitoba and across the Dakota's in winter is almost like driving across Siberia, so hope for decent weather. A little Canuck comedy there.

Congratulations David!

Good for you, David, hope you have a safe trip and a happy experience.

What a great honor, David. Very deserving. Hope you didn't get washed out by the storm. Phoenix had a lot of rain and hail, but it blew threw pretty quickly. Stay dry.
David Duckett06-Oct-10 05:05
Thanks to all. It stormed and rained in various places all day and the storm last night sounded horrible but it passed quickly. Another cactus fell over Monday, right beside the dirt road in front of the house.
