Good choice. The pilot is on his way.

PO says he'll land on Saturday.

Thanks Don!

Did you get any tissue wrinkling when you painted the model? It's hard to tell from this picture. Just curious how well the dope technique worked for you.

I got almost no wrinkling. "Almost" because on the bottom of the tail things were really tight. If I had done a more careful job putting on the tissue there it would have come out better. Certainly the dope technique you told me about was a winner.

I have completed the three coats of aluminum. I am going to mask the nose in front of the pilot. For anyone who has masked their planes, what worked best? I was thinking of that green tape but I want to prevent paint leakage AND having the masking damage the parts I cover. Any suggestions??

Tamiya masking tape.

I use regular blue painters tape, but I stick it to my Tee-shirt first to put a little fuzz on it and reduce the stickiness. However, Tamiya tape works great too.

My local hobby shop is open 3 days a week for 5 hours so I should be able to get the Tamiya tape Thanks very much.

I've used both. Be sure the paint is cures. I've pulled paint off with both of them. I have to try Ed's idea. makes sense.
