hjlittman | 08-Nov-14 16:00 | Because of the high angle of attack when it is sitting on it's gear, the Cutlass looks like a hulking beast of a fighter, but it was actually rather small by today's jet fighter standards. The wing span was 40 feet, a foot shorter than an F4U Corsair, and it was only 41 feet long. The F-15, for comparison, is 63 feet long and has a wing span of 43 feet. If the two models were to the same scale the Cutlass would be noticeably smaller. |
