The red piece is what came with my kit. The center piece is a test and the one on the right is perfect! Thank you, Steve!! |

You make me an offer I can't refuse. |

Deal! Would you like a duplicate set of parts when I make the new ones? |
David Duckett, Comment for image # 6686 | 21 Feb 08 14:36 |
I like your attitude! I'm relatively certain I can live with the one you sent and I thank you for making it. |

It was the Space Shuttle kit that launched me on my quest to duplicate the plastic parts so that I would not consume the irreplaceable contents of a discontinued kit. But as you found out too, there seems to be little demand for this kit, keeping the eBay prices low.
The Fireball is definitely a kit worthy of preserving. If you want a canopy then whittle a block of wood to shape, mail it to me, and I'll send you back the block of wood and a vacuum formed canopy. |

I created several more cowls last night in my quest for casting perfection. I am happy to say that I finally created what I consider an exact copy that is as good as can be made. Hopefully the less than perfect one that I sent you yesterday will work ok. |

2 more to the pile. The bottom one is actually VINTAGE , 40's, and the Space Shuttle is still factory sealed. I was the only bidder for the Shuttle, $19.99. I'll use none of the wood in the older kit except for patterns and there is no canopy |

It weighs 1.8 ounces/51 grams. I'm afraid to take it outside in the wind. ;-) |

Waiting for my custom made cowling from Steve, I'll be making the prop and guns and painting the wheels. |

We don't talk about summer! There's a gunnery range about 100 miles or so west of here and this is a military fighter playing with his buddies, a common sight. |

Very bucolic, but now it is winter. I remember your last summer! |

The coyotes know where the gaps are and come into the yard all the time. |

Fence to keep the critters out?
Coyotes, etc? |

Great job, that red is very sporty. I'm inspired to build another DVIII too. |

I believe the whole area in the picture is a "National Forest Monument", though I fail to see a forest. How fortunate you are! |

It's currently -15 degC where I live with about 1/2 meter of snow in the backyard. This shot makes me think of moving! Sweetwillie is right - your life certainly seems idyllic. I don't get the contrail either - do you live near a base? |
sweetwillie, Comment for image # 6674 | 20 Feb 08 17:45 |
I like the view from your yard. cactus, mountains and blue sky with contrails. Life, sure is great! |
