That's really looking good. |

some progress. I have the vertical fin/rudder completed and have started on the cockpit. the wings are ready for surgery. I still have to work out exactly how I'm going to proceed with those slats as well as the hinged canopy...cutting and masking this flimsy cellophane won't be a walk in the park |

you can see I have opened up the cockpit space and cleaned up the bulkhead F3 - seems it is placed right where the seat is supposed to be mounted. I am still thinking of splitting the windscreen off of the canopy and posing it open or hinging it. Do I really want to spend that kind of time on this kit..?

Currently using Pine Pro Sealer - a water based sealer that can be mixed with any water based filler |

That sounds like a really good idea. |

Never thought of that....what kind of sealer are you using? |
heywooood, Comment for image # 38756 | 05 Jun 17 16:34 |
the new filler is great. I can shape it a little easier with the knife and it sands to a smoother surface than the Hobbico paste. I still use the Hobbico for heavier applications because it feels a little more 'structural' when it has hardened. Also - I can mix them both with the sealer I am using as they both dissolve into that liquid to make a nice, heavy coating with better filling properties for the finer seams and wood grain openings that can be problematic with either filler alone or sealer alone. I mix a clump uf the filler and pour an equal sized dollop of the sealer into a plastic tray or lid and mix it up with the brush...very nice consistency that sands beautifully after it has cured on the model |

How do you like that filler? |

I have it on hold at the ol' library - should be able to pick it up later today along with a handful of other Hun reference books...I'm looking forward to reading these pilots' accounts for sure - thanks Ray |
