I converted a Guillow's 400 series P-51 to electric RC and can agree with James that you should consider a kit already designed for it. If you are dead set on converting a 900 series (or any Guillow's kit for that matter) you can find some conversion threads listed here.

Erik. How about a Molt Models Hellcat? It's a great size (30"), and can flown on anything from an IPS to a small brushless motor. I think you'll end up having to modify a Guillows kit quite a bit to make it fly well (they are quite heavy). My Mustang is a LaserArts one, which is very nice, but a little large and fast for me. The Hellcat was more fun to fly.

Thanks Eric. It's a HiMax 4100-2015, with the GWS EPS prop shaft and 10x8x4 prop. I can't remember which ESC. The battery is a Tanic 11.1V 1550mAh pack.

One of the true greats of aviation! I saw him perform in his P-51D "Ol' Yeller" at Clear Lake,Tx in 1968 and again in New Orleans in '71 when he was performing in his Shrike Aero Commander. I have not seen performances that even come close to his in those type aircraft. Truly amazing.

I had the great fortune of meeting Mr Bob Hoover today. What a great guy. This was at the NBAA convention in Orlando.

Really pretty shot of this plane. Cool to see it in the air as well. Is it still flying?

Hi Jack. Thanks! The cable is called Sullivan Cable, .032, and the connectors are Dubro Mini E/Z Connectors. Mike Molt, a designer on here got me into this system, it works really well.
