I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

The start.

Don't know what TLAR means, but all freehand.

TLAR...that looks about right? :)

Do you use the aid of a straight edge and draftsman curves to maintain the part shapes during the transfers from plan to tracing paper and then to balsa? Or do you use freehand and TLAR? Looks a trifle tedious, but as you say it saves a cutting step, also it preserves the plan from which you are working. I think I will give it a try. Thanks, Al

Tracing paper over plans to draw outline, then transfer from tracing paper to balsa using a sharp tip #2 pencil. Outlines made by pencil tip in balsa outlined with a ballpoint pen. Easier for me than cutting out each from plan and gluing to balsa, then cutting.

How did you 'draw' the parts to the balsa sheet, Poppy? Nice work. Al

Better drawn then crunched! :-)

All cut, need to sand edges and notch for stringers.
poppy, Image # 3200819 Jul 14 13:03

All parts drawn.

The plans. 29 3/4" w/s, 29 3/4 " length, approx. 1/15 scale.

Notice the fuselage yellow stripe is about 1/4" too wide. This plastic model sat on my shelf with fuselage and stripes painted about 10 years. I just did not want to repaint.

this is going to look nice!

I hope to enlarge the plans by 125% which will give me a 30" span model scaled at approx. 1/15.
