I used a computer for the wing design predominantly to ensure the correct critical airfoil profile sizes so I could print them out accurately. But for the tail feathers I just draw them out freehand, cut paper outlines, set them on the floor and trim them until they "Look about right". |

pfinn | Scratch Built Holiday | Build | 21-Oct-19 16:58 | | Views : 342 | My new work space in Germany. Up three flights of stairs and a fairly narrow Spiral staircase. I have my original "Holiday" model here as well as others that I posted here at VA so the Holiday will come to Denmark for my vacation. Well traveled model!! That's my 1949 NSU Quick Moped I'm restoring. Just replaced all the seals and bearings in the engine and it's ready to reassemble. Then disassemble to get back downstairs!! |
pfinn | Scratch Built Holiday | Build | 21-Oct-19 16:49 | | Views : 323 | Took longer than I had planned but the wings are nearly complete. As usual I went overboard with the joinery. I think I'll cover with my favorite "Coverlight" polyester tissue. It's similar to "Polyspan" but...lighter. Plus its already sealed and colored. I like the tissue look. Although I had planned to bring this on my Denmark trip (starting this Friday :o ), my digression into "you can never have too many ribs" and"Gussetland" has made this quite impossible. |
