Super Duper build DD :-) |

The cowl flaps were individual pieces of styrene. The markings are those on the Revell 1/48 plastic kit I'm using for reference. They are for ac# 25536 or 403 and are for the Pacific theater. The red stripe was also blue. |

Pretty slick DD.2 questions: 1- What are the tail markings? I've seen it before, but couldn't find it. 2- Cowl flaps - individual or have you figured out how to make the arc? |

Thanks, Brian. No, but there are four more to be mounted on the bottom of the pod (fuselage). |

Great idea using the painted tape! That looks sharp and clean. |

now why didn't I think of that - much better look this way |

Amazing the difference a light source makes - the "inside" colour is much better. |

Like most canopies in balsa kits, the frame outlines are exaggerated and most modelers who mask them make them much too wide following those outlines. The Guillows Zero is a splendid example. So, I used painted masking tape closer to the actual width. The ends of the tape and all junctions are painted which basically seals them in place. I will have to mask the half moon shapes in front of each seat. |

This is a little on the green side outside but inside, where it lives, the color is a bit more towards brown. I like the color as it's light enough to show panel lines. As usual when mixing a complex color, I mixed enough for two or three models. |

Looks like you mixed OD properly :) |

Can't wait to see this one finished. Your infills and final finishes are always so good. |

Real nice David. A bit of departure for you, doing full cockpits. Looking really good |
