This is looking good! I know how hard it is to sheet. I used to sheet fuses too, but found that it adds width that makes things like canopies, cowls and other plastic parts no longer fit. Since I started the infill method, I've not had that problem. However, infill is a lot more time consuming, so I still tend to sheet things like wings that don't have a lot of compound curves. |

To add, someday I will try to infill, but maybe on a more simple - less curvy design. |

Forgot to mention a little be goes a LONG way! I've done 5-6 1/48 models including the 17 and have only used about 10% of a bottle. I purchased two bottles not having ever used it before, but i think a single bottle will last me years at the rate its going. Also water soluble.

Hey Brian, no problem at all. Thank you again for the plans!
I would take you up on the Bearcat for sure, but I've already gone out and bought it. : ) It'll most likely be my next build right after Precious Metal. I'm thinking I might convert it to the older Rare Bear, circa 1990s White w/ gold trim. Gotta give some competition to the 51. |

Hi Jgood and thanks,
I use Micro Metal Foil Adhesive from Microscale. I cut out an oversized piece, paint on the glue and let dry for about 30 seconds or so. Tack down to the plastic and burnish with a rolled paper trunnion. After that, a toothpick is the best tool for the job IMO. I’ve gotten to where I’ll burnish the entire thing with it. #11 razor to trim it all out, then Rosie the riveter sprocket tool to create riveting effects : )

Looks really good. What glue are you using to stick the foil down? |

thanks for the gift card clif! i would be glad to give you bearcat plans. it is the dumas plans, but it doesn't give you a cross section of the fuselage and wing formers. tell me if you are interested? |

That's a great technique. Going to need to remember that! |

thanks Ed, the titanium panels were done with bleach and a few pennies thrown in to cook the aluminum foil. The longer submerged, the more gold/ bronze color will appear, even pinks and yellows depending on other factors. Water down, more or less copper, and then the time variable.

Looking forward to see this. My next model is probably going to be the Bugatti P100 I designed this winter (http://www.virtualaerodrome.com/image_browser.html?p_aircraft_id=725&p_user_id=1412) I've modeled a contra-rotating prop setup that fits in the transmission of the model. I haven't tried printing it yet, but I don't think there will be a problem as long as I give enough room for resin shrinkage. I've got pictures of the design in my hanger. |

I really like this effect and the weathering! Very cool. |

Revell 1/48, so far this is the largest undertaking i've attemped. This is with the thinnest, cheapest kitchen foil I could find. |
