I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Looks great! I flew a bunch of these 1/2A profile birds back in the '70's; glad to see some still going!

Yes, I sealed all the screws. The motor almost left the mount while I was bench testing it, so I made sure they were secure when I attached it to the plane. I am waiting for the snow to melt before flying, maybe next weekend.

Nice!! When you going to fly? Take some pics and vid if you can. Did you seal the screw holes for for mounting the engine? I had a engine zoom right out of the block once because the screw holes got saturated with fuel after a couple of flights! Glad it didn't hit anybody.

My finished control line starter plane

This primer turned out to be rather attractive. I think with some decals it would look rather sharp. A good idea to keep in mind for a quick finish on a trainer or build for a first time flyer like me. OK not a first time flyer, but first time control line in over 20 years. I am not that old but I do seem to have a nostalgic streak in me. Free flight, balsa kits, control line all have more appeal to me than out of the box and in the air kind of kits. They have their place, especially when recruiting newcomers, but nothing is as gratifying and planning, building and flying your very own airplane.

Just needs the engine and hardware. Then we fly!

My first ever control line build. Simple, but I still like how it turned out.

clear coat makes it shiny

Dunk it in a bathtub full of polyurethane, add the engine and fuel tank and call her finished!

Aerial view of the plane with canopy finished.

The canopy is painted. Simple, but I think it works.
marlinus64, Image # 1943026 Sep 10 16:27

Side stripe went ok with a little help from masking tape.

The brown bat in repose.

I am not a painter so I have basically no brush control. I think I did ok with the help of some masking and patience. I still want those crisp clean paint lines...oh well I figure i have another 30 years or so to get it right.
marlinus64, Image # 1942726 Sep 10 16:23

Seeing as I have not flown control line in 25 years or so, I see a lot of figure 9's in this little fellows future. So, I may not spend much more effort in perfecting the paint job.
marlinus64, Image # 1942626 Sep 10 16:22

Other than a painted canopy i think it may be ready for some fuel proof clear coat.

My "brown bat" is taking shape
