Thank you. I like the beam construction and it is indeed easier and faster once all the pieces are cut and notched. It's very strong and straight, too. The beam is 1/8" hard balsa and all the stringers are 1/16" from Guillows kits cause they're stronger. I like this kit so far. The wing and tailfeathers are fairly simple structures using lots of wood. Oh joy, oh rapture!!

This is looking good, David.

I always enjoy watching your builds, this precision beam design looks great! They did a show on the dam busters where they simulated the rotating drum striking a dam they built in Canada. A DC4 was the plane and they did manage to skip the bomb about 350 yards or so into the dam wall. Keep us up to date please.

Proceeding nicely.
David Duckett, Image # 2480926 Jan 12 07:22

Several notches had to be adjusted to keep the stringers in line but that's expected and didn't cause a problem. Former #3 was about 1/16" high on the beam so it got sliced a bit more. Next step is to infill the bottom center section so the first two blocks can be put in place.

Well, that was easy enough. This is all the stringers and there are six (6) balsa blocks to be added and carved to complete the fuselage per plan. At this point it really wouldn't need much sanding before covering.

Only jesting... don't be so touchy :-)
