I took this picture with a Canon digital camera I found in the river today while fly fishing, and wanted to see if it worked & downloaded properly. I guess it does! This shot shows the balsa sheeting on the cockpit area.

Current status of Piper Cub restoration. The modeler who built it did a nice job but built it very heavy. So I'm trying to sand off all the old paint, and lighten where possible. I built new tail feathers using the solid pieces as templates and have saved over 5g just there alone. Should reduce the nose weight needed and help it fly better!

Added some letters and control outlines. This was after several very nice flights. I had to add quite a bit of lead to the nose to offset the solid tail feathers, but it still flew very well.

close up of the braces I added. I'll blend them into the fuse and repaint...

trainer with wing covered and installed. On the 2nd test flight the plane cartwheeled on landing and broke the tail off, right at the rear peg. The wood is very old and brittle and that is a weak spot in the fuse. So I repaired it with some braces.
