Nice job,DD. The molded plastic top/canopy makes it easier, less sanding. The wingspan on this one will make the 190 will make a dramatic model. I look forward to progress. I used the same tecnique on my FW, slab sides and block top and bottom sanded to shape. |

House of balsa...I may have to give them a go on the next plane. I am not happy with Guillows. Your progress is super! |

It was a stupid question apparently. |

Wow!!!! Now that's a piece of plastic. It would appear "O Great One" that the canopy is incorporated. Will you pre-mask the clear windows early in the build to protect it during handling? That might be a stupid question. Looks like a lot of carving and shaping ahead. Definitely a build that should produce a lot of progress photos. Best of luck with this one. |

Blue tape removed and filler sanded smooth. The blue tape will now go back on until The covering process starts. |

The canopy portion has been masked to protect it during the micro-fill phase. |

The plastic piece was glued to the cockpit assembly and the excess plastic was trimmed from the bottom. The 1/4" supports were removed from the bottom and it's now being glued in place. |

What did you do, finished it already? |

Not being as knowledgable about planes as most of you, I just Googled a FW 190 to see what it looks like. Nice choice DD it is a bad a-- looking bird and yours is starting to take form. |

Poppy's right. The sides are 3/32, the top and back bottom are 1/16 as is the cockpit assembly. No stringers are called for but I'll probably use a few on the wing since it's not totally sheeted. This is larger than the Guillows kit in that it has a wingspan of 36". It will all make sense when I finish the next phase of construction. |

This looks like balsa over square formers, no stringers. Gonna be some carving and sanding on this one. Good show. |

DD, what thickness is the stock used for sheeting this model?
I've become used to seeing your using half the rainforest in extra 3/32" stock for stringers prior to covering, that I thought I missed the skeleton. This one seems larger than a Guillow's 400 FW also. |

I got this one just because it's bigger and there are already several Guillows versions on here. I know nothing about the company except several kits have been re-issued, something I learned after paying too much for this one on ebay. |
