Agree with you poppy. Would be a subtle backdrop to the harsh winters. DD, looks excellent. If this was on the Russian front, maybe that phrase about "not eating the yellow snow" would not apply.

Wow is right, DD. This looks like an Eastern Front scheme. Beautiful.

Holy Cow!!! A real master piece. Rembrandt would be intimated.

Wow.... that is AWESOME as "HECK" Its nice to see that all of these models dont have to be just like the box cover... I personelly like to modify and make it unique. Like if I built the plane, what I would do,how I would paint it, and so on. DD this is truely a piece of art.

DD...you are a brush and color master. You have taken the skills from your paintings and applied them to your model art!

Really looking sweet DD, I already can tell this is going to be a phenomenal paint job.

Boy, you gotta have brass ones.....beating your model with a hammer...with perfect results!! Slick, (may I say) as snot!!

A wooden dowel, a light tap...gun troughs
poppy, Comment for image # 503512 Nov 07 19:35
DD, this is looking super fine! The machine gun troughs in the FW-190 were very shallow, almost non-existent. A couple of swipes with a folded piece of sandpaper would do the trick. Again, great looking model/can't wait to see it finished.

Another museum quality plane by DX2=3M. Outstanding once again!!!!

I'm going to try a series of graduating wood dowels wrapped in sandpaper. The hard part is that they taper to a point much like a candlestick or a flat exclamation point. The wheel wells were filled with micro-fill and a pvc tube embedded for shape. Might try this tonight while some primer dries on the moveables.

I fogot to mention the surface prep is stupendous!
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 503512 Nov 07 18:01
DD... perhaps you could channel the wood a bit, lay in some Al tubing then microfill and sand. Small wooden dowels would work also....just a thought.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 503512 Nov 07 18:00
Duh!! I totally forgot about them. I guess it's not quite ready, yet.
moostang51, Comment for image # 503512 Nov 07 17:51
Those trailing edges are perfect. I too used the Micro-fill for fairings with great results. Reminded me of the old Brylcream commercials.."a little dab will do ya". Looks great now, primed willed be even better, camoed...furgedaboutit!! Have you thought about the fuselage MGs. I'm trying to figure out a neat way to install the troughs as I filled them in solid as the Guillow's plan wasn't accurate for the Mess. BTW variable pitch props on a FW190.
