I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

I glued a piece of 1/16" styrene to the fuselage to be a support for the landing gear doors to be glued to. The nose gear is finished and the door will be glued in place when I get a wheel added.

I'm impressed with Penn Valley. I ordered the kit online Wednesday night and it was here Saturday. I've stayed away from Easy Built for the reason you mention but this one is a substantial kit. It's not easy but it's not hard, either, just a lot of work and that's fine. The Guillows wheels will not be used as they're too small. They're 1 3/4" and the correct size should be 2 1/8" so I'll go with 2" wheels. The "decals" shown are not decals but printed tissue which are to be put on with a glue stick. Not! One would think that for the price a decent set of decals would have been included.

Dave, I have always had good luck with PV, but EZ-Built kits are not easy. But that outline on the plans looks pretty substantial compared to the Mosquito that I had. At least it has more than 8 ribs in the wing.

You can watch the show here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/military/bombing-hitler-dams.html On the same PBS website, there's also a preview for a Nova episode airing tomorrow, Jan 18 on the "3D Spies of WWII". Looks worthy of checking out.

There was a really interesting show on PBS Nova last week on Barnes Wallis, the man who designed the bouncing Dam Buster bombs. Another professor wanted to see if he could recreate the bomb and drop it from an airplane. After much experimenting and cogitating they rigged up a DC-6, spun a 700 lb drum at 1400 rpm and dropped it on a concrete dam they built for the experiment. It worked! Very interesting show.

No, I have the new camera and all its goodies in a Canon bag ( ;-) ) and the book for dummies on the shelf. It will do the same kind of automatic shooting just as easily as the Sony but I want to learn it properly. I was planning to start reading the book after the F-16 but then the Lancaster showed up...

Are all your pictures now taken with the new camera?

Made using the straw from a small box of OJ, toothpicks, 1/16" strip with 1/32" sides, and masking tape

The plan will be sent but it's like pulling teeth. It looks like a good kit but their attitude is piss poor and I hope I don't have to deal with them again. The printwood is no problem but the 1/16" stringers supplied are mostly mush. Fortunately I have a large stash of good ones. Notice the Guillows wheels?

I'm very interested to see what you think of this kit once you get into building it. If you ever fancy the D-08 Bristol Beaufighter kit just let me know (no extra charge for the plans).

Sent you an e-mail, David.

Print wood though..........ewwww.... Just throw on some AC/DC, grab a bottle, and get to work I guess.

With those blocks of balsa near the top, look like someones going to be doing some carving, etc.

Only $80.19 at Penn Valley I see though.
