I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Actually, the vibration caused the Electra's wings to come apart. The DeHavilland Comet had the pressure fuselage cracks from faster than anticipated metal fatigue. The Electra was the first large airplane with wings largely "glued" together with a molecular bonding agent. This gave the wings a rather peculiar harmonic which was not a problem unless the plane had made a hard landing. The inboard engine mounts were a little weak and a hard landing could tilt them slightly which brought the vibration of the engine assembly into the harmonic range of the wings resulting in the wings simply coming apart when a certain cruising power setting was reached. The solution was stronger engine mounts, tilted at a different angle to change the harmonics (made the plane quieter too) and slightly thicker wing skins to change the frequency of the wings. The resulting sales loses and lawsuits over the crashes would have put Lockheed under if it had not been for their military business.

The Electra had a problem with the turboprops in that the props would set up a harmonic vibration under certain settings which caused cracks in the pressure fuselage. This resulted in several fatal crashes. One of these occurred just outside Buffalo, TX(about 110mi S of Dallas) when it dove straight into the ground from 30000' in the late 50's.

Buffalo airlines has a few of these flying on that show ice pilots. Its one of the few if not the only reality show I can stand to watch.

Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi. You may have seen it at the Gulfport airport near Biloxi as that's where I boarded one for the flight to Atlanta.

What the name of it?I think I walked around a plane like it at keesoer air force base! The one I REMEBER was like a dc 3 with four engines and tryke gear my dad got us on board some how.

That's the one. This would make for a great build.

Thank you.:-)I'm pleased with it and I'm also pleased to see that it's a very nice looking design. The engines almost look like turboprops. This plane means as much to the UK folks, all of you, as the B-17 does to us in the US and it's nice to add it to the hanger to recognize that.

Now that's awesome. Love the props, the colour, and how this whole build is turning out. Seriously DD, it looks like a plastic model. I LOVE IT!!!!!
