I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Oil paint has been used since the 7th century, acrylics came in the 40s.

Several hundred years.....

they had oil before acrylic?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3492109 Nov 15 12:44
The white finally arrived today and I bought a 37ml tube of black last week so I'm good to go. I have several large canvases stashed from the past year or so and it's a good thing, too. Canvas prices have increased dramatically in that time to the point that I couldn't afford them now, over $100 each for a larger canvas which I paid $35 for last year. The first few paintings I did when I started painting 50 years ago were in oil but I haven't used it since and know basically nothing about it, except that it takes quite awhile to dry and that is exactly why I will be playing with it.

This is all intended for abstract work so particular colors aren't important, just the basics.
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 3492109 Nov 15 10:27
dd, do you just get the primary colors, then mix from that?

Covering is finished except for the front 2". I still have the left stabilizer to shape and cover, as well.

Fantastic work!! The air scoop looks great!!

It warmed up enough yesterday to allow final sanding and three coats of nitrate dope. I carved/fabricated the air scoop and it and the spinner have one application of filler sanded and they will also be doped. The final carving will be the prop blades. It is now ready for covering.

That Rapide hanging there looks cool David - I must check out the build on that.....

I honestly never thought about style, only shape and or color. With the recent abstracts, it's all totally spontaneous so I don't know what one will look like. The challenge is to know when to stop.

You have a very eclectic style, David.
