I saw my first Jackson Pollack painting about 10 years ago at the Chicago Art Institute. I was surprised at how "alive" the real painting was compared to photos. There were instances of layers about 3/4" thick that helped the paint to move as you walked across it (the painting was huge. Another surprise). I really enjoy that your art is not of any one genre. And that you are willing to play with the paint and the paintings. Great stuff.

"Yes, sir, Officer Obie, I cannot tell a lie, I put that black cat there just for you." Actually it's green.

I like the black cat.

Beautiful photo,DD. That's about the color my chin was for a week, but it was nowhere as spectacular as this. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer it to wasting time in front of a TV and having interior decoration by Wal Mart.

No, when I lived on the coast of northern California. I was in Vietnam for a year and you can't see the Pacific Ocean from there, only the South China Sea.

in Vietnam?

The only time I saw a glacier was from 35,000' flying to Japan. I saw the Pacific Ocean nearly everyday for 7 years.

Totally agree with you. To me, your paintings reflect feelings and interpretations that exceed those of other forms of "art" such as modeling. Not to deride modeling, because I tend to express myself as an artist challenging and expressing my interpretation of the aircraft as I see it with each build. But your paintings are not confined within the boundaries of the model which in itself represents the material world. Hence, my question of the title on this painting. Its beautiful!

Thank you. Most do, you picked one that doesn't. Titles are only arbitrary and mainly used so I can identify a work. The viewer always sees something I didn't and thinks it needs a name. Something like this is a feeling, not a thing.

We humans could learn a lot from our animal friends.

Wow! That looks three-dimensional! Beautifully created. Do you have any titles for some of your works?
Skyediamonds, Comment for image # 3503727 Nov 15 11:06
Wish that could be shared on the World Wide Web. This world needs such a statement. Beautifully said. -Sky

Very beautiful work of art. I envy you for your ability to interpret onto canvas what is being felt, as opposed to simply assembling a model whether it's from a kit or scratched out. -Not many people have that ability to convey feelings into art form. -Sky
