Hi. How are you doing David. Is this the Winsor & Newton Water base Oil? Looks pretty darn versatile. Brush and Pallet Knife, thinned? Nice.

Thanks! That is exactly what it is but using a regular paint brush and a "dry brush" technique.

Great job Mr. DD. How did you do the fading in between the two colors? Did you stipple the brush? Beautiful model. -Sky

I like the colors. Nice touch on the brush shading.

Not as hard as I thought but it isn't finished.

This will take awhile...

Tube colors, no other color mixed in, Cadmium Red Medium and Cadmium Yellow Medium were used for the bands.

I did some oil painting many years ago and that slow drying time certainly is another tool to use for blending on canvas. I also recall not enjoying dealing with solvents and brush cleaning.

I decided it would be easier to paint around the decals than masking them as I did on the Heinkel.

I know nothing about the guns. The entire complex is now a museum.

The air museum at Falcon Field used to (sigh!) have the largest collection of Tommy Guns in the world on display. To say nothing of all the planes. (double sigh). Is this on the prison grounds? And what's with the miniature Thompsons?

It will be interesting to hear how water soluble oils differ from acrylics, other than the drying time. Keep us posted David. Please.
