Four coats of nitrate dope and four coats of acrylic paint
David Duckett, Image # 2006214 Nov 10 04:17

One coat of nitrate dope has been applied to all surfaces. When it warms up a bit outside, I'll paint on another three coats before starting the actual painting.

I'm kidding, of course, but a Canadian friend once told me that Americans knew squat about Canada while Canadians are well versed in things American, including our history. Ever heard of "The Heights of Abraham"?

Strange....?

Very nice, David. Very atmospheric. Many of your paintings definitely have an Andrew Wyeth quality to them.

"Thank You" to all of our Veterans and all who currently serve our country!
marlinus64, Comment for image # 1999511 Nov 10 11:28
To all my brothers in arms who have served our country, I'd like to say thanks. Also, make sure you let people thank you for your service. I used to get embarrassed or feel awkward, but my regardless of when or where we served (Panama mid 80's for me), we all risked our lives for our country. Even if it was simply by being in the military and risking the call to combat. And for that, all Veterans deserve thanks and respect. Mr Duckett, you have posted some amazing pics and paintings! My cousin always said the mountains of Viet Nam were tall, but this is unreal. It must have taken a rare "bird" to stay perched on that mountain and monitor those radars.

In the ceremony awarding the Medal of Honor posthumously to CMSGT Etchberger, President Obama referred to LS 85 as being "above the clouds'.

is that where vegas gets it's water too?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1996409 Nov 10 15:01
They say "Arizona grows where water flows" so it would probably do quite well. All the fields are irrigated with water from the Central Arizona Project which brings it from the Colorado River. It's the same water that makes Los Angeles possible.

i don't know how the tobacco would do in the desert anyway.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1996409 Nov 10 14:17
I'll pass on the tobacco plants but I'll gladly send you some cotton and seeds, just send an address. It's my understanding that these seeds will not grow, having been geneticly (?) modified.
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 1996409 Nov 10 13:52
i'll trade you some of my uncle's tobacco plants for some cotton and seeds.

Washing off the stink of a rotten potato! Originally, it was "Three "Maids" in a Tub", till 1830.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1991707 Nov 10 09:31
Oh, no! This is one of many things you can find on the web. Many wonder what three men are doing in a tub.
