Thanks, Phil. This is Cobalt blue lightened with Titanium white and then subdued with the addition of one of the grays from the LS 85 painting. The tube color is way too bright and vivid for a military plane. Blues remain fairly flat while all the other colors gain a sheen with additional coats. I'll be spraying on a gloss coat when it's finished.

The color and lustre are spot on for this model. I just love it. Your mastery of the display model always astounds me. And what really blows me away is the fact every subsequent build you do just seems to be, I can't recall the perfect word, but, just that much more...well, maybe "More" is the word. Even if it means less. They're always just right. My honest respect to you David. Phil

Stars & bars in 3 easy steps. The paint is applied in thin coats and this is after one coat.

Yes. There's an air compressor and some airbrushing stuff around here but I don't know how to use it. I'm really not comfortable with spray paint in general except for gloss or dull coat.

Thank you. I asked my friend, who moderates the 1CEVG site, to post it on the site since I no longer participate in discussions. There was not one response.

This is absolutely beautiful! My friends Father does paintings of his time in a WW2 POW camp. He was at the Bridge over the River Kwai. His last name is Potthoff. He was in a PBS special about POW's and their artwork. His themes and perspective are similar to yours. Knowing that you gentlemen were actually part of these stories and paintings makes viewing them even more special. The earlier image of this painting was impressive, but the addition of the contrails gives it an entirely new meaning for me. The impact of those three lines is amazing. They add so much depth and power to this piece, I almost feel like I am on the mountain top myself. This is a powerful painting. Bravo.

I had a Monogram plastic F3F Gulfhawk kit when I was a kid.
