I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Looking very nice Sky. I'm doing image research for a SPAD XIII and it is interesting to see how the instruments were arrayed. They seemed to use the cockpit like a shelf, with instruments inset into or on top of the shelf. Looking forward to the finalized model.

Rapyl- just viewed your XF-92 build and was completely blown away. You are "one of the few" artists. Truly impressive.

The more I look at it, the more the instrument panel resembles computerized flight displays done in the style of steam gauges...

I'll be sure to employ the services of John Brantley who specializes in producing decals. Lesson learned... (I think). I took pictures of the homemade dials with my cell and then uploaded to my laptop. From the laptop, uploaded to the scanner/copier, and then had the dials reproduced in scale. I'm guessing the finer details and correct colors got lost along the way.

Instruments in place. For some reason, my copier printed the instrument dials with a bluish tinge.

Aluminum foil from coffee can glued in place. Pilot is (now) awake from all that coffee.

Rayl... LoL... How did you know?

Scrounging things up to repurpose them is the mark of a inveterate tinkerer. Besides, dumpster diving can be fun.

Using the aluminum foil backing from coffee seals for covering the former immediately ahead of the instrument panel to imitate the fuselage fuel tank.

Making the compass that will be the center piece of the instrument panel. Memo to all: its one of those "wish I knew then moments" but Mr. John Brantley who makes custom decals for us modelers will also gladly make custom decals for instruments for any particular aircraft as well.

LoL... Thanks Rayl. Always could use your support. Actually, can't drink due to medications (I'll be celebrating my 38th anniversary of my 29th birthday at the end of this month). However, Reno does do justice to the term "Sin City" where anything goes..... :)

Keeps you out of the bars in Sin City doesn't it?

Airspeed indicator is different from that of The Vintage Aviator. I was going to follow them instead of using my own photos from the RAF until further research into their website revealed that they used the exact same airspeed indicator for their Sopwith Snipe. Decided to use my own photo instead. Don't know which is more accurate. Guess this is where "Artistic License" comes in.

Sort of laid out how each instrument went together, starting with the brass cut out..
Skyediamonds1985, Image # 3542621 Jan 16 22:51

End result with bezel installed.

Each instrument has its own bezel. I used the rings purchased from an arts and crafts store.

Yep Used a magnifying glass to get the dials just right.
