Please disregard, I should have read the replies above more carefully before posting. |

Based on your reply here is sounds like you use the plastic part from the kit as the mold? |

Micro-Mark, they have lots of neat stuff. |

This is so cool.... where did you get the solution's at? I have been looking for someone to do this, because I would love to make some exhaust for my P-40. Thank you David!!! |

Another one I missed. The parts are glued together after casting and I did omit the wire on this one. Matt, are you still here? I think Guillows charges about $4 for a replacement plastic sheet, not sure. I've built the F4U twice, a pic of one is in my B 17 build. I'll be doing some more casting very soon and will post pics of the process. |

uh oh, I think trying to add an html url broke my last comment. I was trying to say that Shorty's Basement (http://www.shortysbasement.com) has a 20% off sale on all in stock items through December 16th. |

Absolutely, they have a lot of quality tools. Everyone may be interested to hear that Shorty's Basement has 20% all in stock items till December 16th. |

And you'll save a mint on x-acto blades by getting them from Shorty's Basement (100 for $15). |
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2638 | 05 Nov 07 06:49 |
I'm not sure what the manual says. The tools I use are a x-acto knife with lots of extra blades, pins, sandpaper and sanding blocks, scissors, a pencil, pliers, and a metal ruler. Oh, and a paint brush for painting. Other materials are used in the building and finishing but I don't think they would be called tools: CA and Testors wood cement, clear dope, white glue, heavy grade silkspan, masking tape, Liquitex acrylic paints, waxed paper, and Coronas. |

Thanks, Poppy. Is there room? From what I've seen all of yours are there. And from the looks of recent work here it seems other models are headed that way, also. That's what I would call "SWEET". |

These belong in Guillows Hall of Fame. |

Just found this image. You have mastered the art of covering. Beautiful paint and detail! |

It looks like you cast each half of an item like a landing gear separately and glue them together. Is that correct?
Do you imbed the wire parts or skip them?

Looks great! I had no interest in building one of these. Now that I see this one, definately on my list of projects. Super job! Love the paint scheme. |

Very impressive to say the least. |
