Ha, speaking of third world, did you know that New Zealand scrapped it's entire combat jet force (including trainers) and now has to rely on a half a dozen Orions and a guy who shoots a pistol off the loading ramp of the Hercules to defend the country. !#@$#!@ They are sitting in big plastic baggies about and hours drive from here (Skyhawks and Macchis) We were meant to get F16's but the govt got nervous and used the money instead to buy everyone a steel helmet and a first aid kit.

The date of the cars should tell the story. The newest is the Mercury "Topaz"??? on the left circa 81'/82. As I recall the contemporary was the Ford Tiempo, anyone remember that baby? I think that's late model Plymouth Valiant closest to the tail...could be wrong. But the cyclist...that puzzles me. I mean, he's wearing a helmet..c'mon!

If you kept the 141's on active duty, you couldn't justify the C-17....

is that a tail of a B52? based off the cars in the picture this must have been in the early 1980s.

Clunkers, but no cash...surely some friendly third world Air Force could use these...Botswana, Belize, The Phillipines, Thailand...waste.

Thanks for your kind words. All my models are painted with brushes and I use strictly Liquitex acrylic paints from start to finish. I don't use a "primer" as such but all surfaces are painted with at least two coats of clear dope to seal everything before starting with the acrylic paint.

David, I was just looking at your DC3. My next build will be a Guillows DC3, in Ozark markings. May I ask You What kind of primer and paint you use? Is it brushed or sprayed on? You DC3 looks so very nice. Thanks

I almost always make the props stationary. John O makes his spin but then, he's an engineer. If I can get them glued on straight, I'm satisfied.
EdClark, Comment for image # 281631 Jan 08 15:31
David and all, please excuse the dumb questions from a beginner, but when you mount the prop on a static model is it stationary or moveable. Guillow makes no mention of it in the 400 series Warhawk.

I hope it's me....I hope it's me. BTW pictures are required. I'm sure that this will be another build technique which will be shared by all at the VA. Until I see the process I'll leave it to you pros. Thank you Matt for your discovery and DD for his generosity.
